10-inch Comtoise clock with automaton pressed pendulum from the period 1880/1890. Half-hour and full-hour chime on a tone spring with repetition.
The pendulum and decorative plate still bear remnants of their original painting. This model, which can be found in the catalog of Armand Morel (Appendix I), is called: Fermière (Farmer's Wife).
The apple thief (in the small window) and the farmer’s wife’s head move in time with the pendulum.
The fineness of the embossing is unmatched in reproduction parts (see detail photo).
