No. 104 CUM
11-inch Comtoise clock with anchor escapement and lyre pendulum, dating to around 1880/90. The gridiron pendulum features 13 rods and a 330 mm pendulum lens. The clock strikes on the half-hour and full hour on a bell with repetition. It has a date display and an enamel dial with applied enamel cartouches, signed: Liébher à Aigueperse. The Black Forest surname Liebherr has already been adapted to a French spelling.
Anselm Lothar Liebherr was born on April 9, 1840, in St. Georgen and died on June 18, 1909, in Aigueperse. He was initially a clockmaker in Clermont-Ferrand before marrying Anne Vergnette (October 16, 1842 - December 28, 1926) on September 7, 1867. He then settled as a clockmaker in Aigueperse in 1868. Numerous Comtoise clocks bear the name Liebherr on their dials.
