Comtoise movement with anchor escapement and oval embossed decorative plate, circa 1880/90, half and full hour strike on bell with repeater. Patented by J-M ( BREVETE S.G.D.G ) striking mechanism with fewer parts ( cost reduction ) compared to the conventional type, which, however, did not become generally accepted and is therefore extremely rare. Cf. no. 391 CUM. The seller DECOSSE à Guingamp also used the dial as an advertisement for his most important business, namely the sale of wedding rings - Vente de Bagues de Mariage.
