Comtoise clock with anchor escapement and articulated pendulum from 1856. Stamped, narrow brass bezel. Half and full hour strike on bell with repetition of the hour strike. Iron hour and minute hands in Breguet shape, brass date hand with a crescent moon on the back that has been filed as a 'face'. Enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours and large Arabic numerals for the date, signed: RENON Hger (Horloger) de la Ville ROANNE 1856 See TARDY, Dictionnaire des Horlogers francais, page 550.
