Typical Hagneaux Comtoise clock with verge escapement and pendulum bob from Normandy. Movement cage on 4 pointed iron feet 57 mm long, in the style of the typical Normandy lantern clocks built in Pont-Farcy. Half and full hour strike on bell with repetition of the hour strike. Decorative sheet metal with grape harvest motif, enamel dial signed with Roman numerals: Adolphe Hagneaux à Coudres. Floral painting around the name and location. Around 1855/1860. This type of Comtoise clock on pointed feet was only made by Thomas, Adolphe, Victor and Nicolas Hagneaux in the first half of the 19th century. See also No. 146 CUM /Thomas Hagneaux.
