Nr. 540 CUM

Comtoise clock from the time of the First Republic (1793 to 1795), during which the 30-day Republican Calendar was introduced in France, alongside decimal time. However, the obligation to use it was abolished after about 1.5 years, while the calendar remained in effect until December 31, 1805. Each month was uniformly divided into 3 decades of 10 days, i.e., 30 days per month. The days of the decade were numbered from Primidy (first day) to Decady (tenth day). At the end of the year, 5 of the 6 holidays were added for the revolutionaries.

Enamel dial in a dish shape, signed on the back: navand a morez, showing the 3 decades: 1st, 2nd, 3rd DÉCADE.
Quarter-hour strike - Grande Sonnerie - on 3 bells (3 weights). Verge escapement. Large cast finial and beard with a floral bowl over large rocaille (C-arches) and vine motifs at the ends.
