No. 467 CUM
Comtoise with anchor escapement and lyre pendulum, chime. Decorative plate with depiction of a shepherd boy, herding dog and sheep, certainly a typical depiction of the time. The decorative plate is also marked accordingly with “Le Petit Berger B.W. Paris. The little shepherd. B.W Paris” B.W. are the initials of a Parisian manufacturer. The panpipe he is shown playing in this depiction is probably not typical of the life of a shepherd boy at the time, alluding to Pan, the god of shepherds, the forest and nature. The special feature of this clock at this time is its extremely rare dial, which, in addition to the Roman numerals for the hours, also features Arabic numerals for the minutes.
