10-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1840. Half-hour and full-hour strikes on a bell, with repetition of the hour strike. Strike mechanism triggered by weights. Alarm mechanism and date display. Two-part embossed decorative plate featuring a sun-face motif, cornucopias, peacocks, and grapevines. Star-shaped hands with engraved surfaces. Enamel dial signed: Bertholat à St.Etienne.
