No. 333 CUM

9 inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and foldable pendulum from the period 1843 - 1850. Until 1843, all decorative brass plates were embossed in two parts, from 1843 the first one-piece embossed brass decorative plates appeared, which then replaced the two-part embossed plates until around 1850. This model with a peasant dance for Thanksgiving is certainly one of the first one-piece embossed decorative plates, because it still has the bead between the top part and the corners of the dial, although in this model all 4 corners have different motifs, which is very unusual. The decorative plate is signed at the bottom: BLONDEAU & GRENIER (left side) and DEPOSE (right side).        See also No. 169 CUM and No. 1360 (with the year 1853), which have the same motif with small differences, but minted in the style of the decade 1850-1860. Half and full hour chimes on the bell with repetition after 2 minutes. Enamel dial with Roman numerals and decorated star hands.
