10-inch Comtoise clock from around 1840, with spindle escapement and folded pendulum, half-hour and full-hour strike on bell with repetition. Two-piece pressed brass decorative plate with ribbed edge and Napoleon motif in the semicircle. Napoleon I. in front of a striped background surrounded by oak leaves. Military attributes such as flags, banners, cannons, and drum on the left and right. Four "imperial" eagles sitting on laurel branches in the four corners of the dial. The dial is framed by small five-pointed stars. The textured star-shaped hands with five-pointed stars also recall Napoleon I. and his Order of the Legion of Honour, appearing for the first time with the Napoleon motifs.
