Nr. 535 CUM

9-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum – rear pendulum guidance – from around 1825, where the division of the decorative plate is not at III and IX but at the bead. The dial bezel with all four corners was pressed in one piece. Two stamping tools were therefore necessary compared to other contemporary models, which required only one stamping tool, as the upper corners of the second stamped part were cut off and then mounted as lower corners. Notable are the four very large, three-dimensional Fleurons at the corners. The decorative roof is presumably the second model stamped by Paget from the period 1810 to 1820. However, any other contemporary decorative roof of a 9-inch clock could also be combined with the one-piece bezel. Enamel dial signed: Fargis à Périgeux.
