Comtoise clock with anchor escapement and folded pendulum, alarm movement, embossed ornamental plate with large eagle ( spread wings ), ornamental plate at bottom right with protective mark: DEPOSE, half and full hour strike on bell with repetition on the hour. Enamel dial with Roman numerals. The special feature of this clock is that it dates from after 1870 and has a silk suspension for the pendulum. Even after 1870/80, clocks with a folded pendulum were still offered, but these then had an anchor escapement, as verge escapements were no longer built.
