Comtoise clock from the Louis Philippe period, 1840/45. Petite sonnerie mechanism on two gongs and one bell. Repetition of the hour strike. Two-part embossed brass decorative plate featuring a sun face (Apollo head), ribbon bow, cornucopias, palm leaves, and oak leaves. Enamel dial with large polychrome painting that frames almost the entire interior of the dial. Star-shaped hands.

The German name Winchelmann suggests a Black Forest clock dealer who apparently settled in Vienna and later distributed Comtoise clocks under his name.

(This dial served as a model for a repro dial used by the Deckert clock- factory for repro Comtoise clocks from 1981 to 2005).
