No. 375 CUM

9-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1850. Half-hour and full-hour strike (rack with arch) on a bell with repetition. Single-piece embossed decorative plate with sun face (without ribbon), framed by laurel, fruit bowl, and cornucopias. Compare also the clocks No. 322 CUM and No. 336 CUM (same models but embossed in two pieces) as well as clock No. 1327, an almost identical two-piece embossed decorative plate that differs only in nuances (ribbon/volutes + base of the fruit bowl). The original two-piece embossing tool was modified after 1848 so that embossing could now be done in one piece. This modification is visible in the embossing at the right edge near III.
