10-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1840/45. Half-hour and full-hour strike on a bell with repetition. Two-part pressed decorative plate featuring a large floral bowl framed by acanthus leaves above an openwork balustrade. Columns are hinted at on the left and right of the dial. (Compare a very similar clock with No. 1326.) Enamel dial with Roman numerals and floral decorations around the location inscription, signed: Bériclet frères à Avallon.
