Comtoise rooster clock from the time of Napoleon I, 1804–1815, with verge escapement and lead bob pendulum, front-mounted pendulum, half-hour striking en passant, and full-hour striking with repetition on a bell.
Brass cast decorative piece featuring a crowned eagle (Napoleon I was crowned emperor in 1804) and a five-pointed star, symbolizing the Legion of Honor (founded by Napoleon I in 1802). Early chiseled form of a sun hand. Domed enamel dial à la Dauphine, meaning with arcade-shaped minute track, signed: Valfort.
The lower dial front is covered with brass sheet.
