No. 9 CUM                                                                                                                                                                                  Comtoise clock with verge escapement and lead pendulum from the Louis XV period around 1750/55. Enamel dial composed of 13 parts, so-called. Treize Pièces dial.

No half hour strike en passant and no repetition of the full hour strike. The half and full hour strikes are struck from the striking mechanism, which is why the minute wheel also has two recesses on the back for the release lever. 

The larger recess on the left is for striking the hour, while the smaller recess on the right is for striking the half hour.

Here, the half-hour strike from the striking mechanism was technically implemented as early as the middle of the 18th century, which only became common practice a century later. ( see detailed photo ).
