No. 113 CUM
10-inch Comtoise clock with automaton - pressed pendulum, anchor escapement, half-hour and full-hour strike on a bell with repetition, from the period 1890/1900. Features a weather house in the lower part and a thermometer in the upper part. A construction likely operated similarly to Black Forest clocks, using a strand of human hair. The human hair changes its length with fluctuations in humidity, causing the figures of the man and woman in the weather house to move. In good weather, the woman appears; in bad weather, the man appears.
