9-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1840/45. Half-hour and full-hour striking on a bell with repetition. Two-part pressed decorative plate with sun head (without ribbon bow), framed by laurel, fruit bowl, and cornucopias. See also fig. Nr. 322 CUM (same decorative plate) and fig. Nr. 1327 (almost identical decorative plate), which only differs slightly (ribbon bow/volutes of the fruit bowl). Star hands with decorated surfaces.
Enamel dial with floral decoration, signed: Hermann frères & Schver à Dreux. Names commonly found in the Black Forest. The French enameler, however, incorrectly wrote the name Schwer with a 'v'.
