No. 119 CUM

9-inch Comtoise clock with the year 1843. Chavin à Grenoble, a merchant frequently associated with clocks that are always marked with a year. Spindle escapement with folded pendulum, half-hour strike en passant, full-hour strike on a bell with repetition. Enamel dial à la Dauphine (arcaded minute ring), strike release by spring pressure. The decorative pediment of this clock is an independent embossed piece that could be combined with various corner decoration models. The corner decorations were cut from an embossed pediment with two corners. This dial is therefore divided into three parts.
It was common practice to cut the embossed pediment with the two upper left and right corner decorations and rotate these corner decorations 180° to mount them as the lower left and right corners.
