9-inch Comtoise clock with verge escapement and folded pendulum from around 1840/45. Half-hour and full-hour strike on a bell with repetition. Two-part pressed decorative plate featuring a sun face (without ribbon bow), framed by laurel, fruit bowl, and cornucopias. Alarm mechanism, enamel dial with floral decoration, signed: Sartore à Saintes, star-shaped hands with ornate surfaces. See also illustration No. 327.
