Comtoise clock with resting verge escapement! A normal movement - two-part ornamental plate with sunburst and filling horns - with verge escapement from the period 1840/45 was converted so that the retrograde verge escapement became a resting “verge escapement”, i.e. it was converted into a precision escapement, comparable to a Graham escapement. Wooden pendulum rod. A quarter-hour striking mechanism with 3 bells was also installed in the cage. The hour strikes together on bell and gong. Enamel dial signed: Phpe (Philippe) Vicaire à Longeaux, typical hands of the decade from 1840: star hands.
