10-inch Comtoise clock with a monthly movement, verge escapement, and folded pendulum from around 1830/35. Half-hour striking en passant, full-hour striking on a bell with repetition. Two-part pressed decorative plate with a sun head (Apollo), ribbon over a flower chalice, and side acanthus leaves, palm leaves, and cornucopias. Enamel dial with small Roman numerals and winding holes at the bottom. Very unusual is the construction of the movement, due to the small cage size for a monthly clock, in which all pinions and wheels run on the rear movement plates.
